Hot water
As our name suggests, Hunter Plumbing and Hotwater are experts in repairing, supplying and installing a wide range of hot water heating systems.
It's without a doubt that the hot water system is one of the most valuable systems in a house. Nobody likes to get caught off guard when it comes to hot water issues!
Ranging from electric, gas and solar hot water units, we work with brands we back and trust, including Rheem, Solahart, Rinnai, Bosch, Dux and more.
Signs your hot water system may be failing:
hot water system is leaking
hot water doesn't last, or goes in/out of heat
your system is making strange sounds, including hissing or clunking
rust coloured water coming out of plumbing

Gas fitting
Gas is something that needs to be left to a fully certified and qualified gas fitter. Hunter Plumbing and Hotwater employ fully licensed, insured, trained and experienced gas fitters for residential and commercial gas fitting needs in the Port Stephens and Hunter areas.
How to recognise a gas leak:
a ‘rotten egg’ smell
the bubbling of wet or flooded areas
dust particles blowing from the ground where the gas is installed
deteriorating vegetation
a hissing sound that is coming from the area your gas is installed
Blocked drains
Whether it be a blocked drain in your kitchen or bathroom, or blocked sewer or stormwater pipes, we have the right equipment to rectify the problem.
We can use a high pressure waterjet system called a Hydrojetter to clear those blockages which will not clear using the traditional methods. The hydrojet is the best method of cleaning storm water drains, instead of just leaving the dirt in the drain it breaks through the blockage as well as cleans the drain at the same time.
We also have a CCTV drain camera we can use to inspect drains to find the cause of the blockage.
Burst pipes
A burst pipe is every home and business owner’s silent enemy! If you think you may have a burst pipe (see below) we recommend you give us a call immediately so we can investigate further. Hunter Plumbing and Hotwater will aim to identify the leak, and fix the pipework whether it be plastic, pvc, galvanised, copper or brass. In most cases we are able to bypass the leak to ensure continued water service for you in less time and then complete the repair at a more suitable time for you.

a decrease in water pressure
puddles of water or soggy carpet
water bill has increased dramatically
moss growing
corrosion or rust forming
